Veeder Peak Vineyards Mount Veeder AVA

Veeder Peak Vineyard
Mount Veeder AVA

Veeder Peak Vineyard ranges from 1,400 to 1,800 feet on the Mayacamas, or western, side of Napa Valley. It has rocky loam soils and sandstone/shale bedrock, which contribute intense violet aromas, blackberry flavors, and bold tannins to the blend.

Fruit from Mount Veeder defines the structure of the wine, providing the tannin backbone to the blend. It also carries the acid load and usually has the highest acid and lowest pH of any of the blending wines that make up Cardinale. A good portion of the finish is contributed by Mount Veeder fruit. Aromatically and on the palate, they offer up-front floral characters, intense blueberry, and a wonderful minerality.
